I have released three poems in the past little while.

“Youth Lost” came to me one day as I reflected on words of wisdom imparted upon me by my now departed grandparents. The message in the poem is really no different than what I heard from my Nonna while I sat on the kitchen table doing my homework growing up as child. At the time I thought she was lecturing me. I guess I’m old enough now to understand what she was trying to say – Live every day like it is your last, life is too short to waste squabbling over the ridiculous and mundane. Forgive, forget and enjoy life.

“I’ve Got to Believe” deals with the frustration we all feel when we have a bad day, month, year. Maybe it is the belief that there is something better out there that drives us to carry on even when it seems hope is lost?

“Where to From Here” is a Selected Poem (meaning one of my personal favourites) for good reason. Some may notice that it reflects a bit of a different style than my normal poetry where I am using single words to convey emotion. I like it for its economy with words yet in my opinion its poignant impact on the reader. It is based on an experience of a good friend who was in a long term relationship that he sensed was going nowhere. While the poem suggests that the relationship is on the verge of ending, I like to believe that it can be read to mean that the relationship was transitioning to the end of its beginning. I leave it with you Dear Reader to decide.

Until then…

All the best.
